Why researchers are studying it.
Start with the honest bit, because it frames the rest. Semax has been studied since the 1980s, but almost all of the clinical work was done in Russia, where it is registered as a medicine. The TGA in Australia, the FDA in the United States and EU regulators have not approved it, and there is no comparable body of research outside Russia to fill that gap.
The idea behind it is a neat one. ACTH is the hormone that drives your stress response - it is the message that tells the adrenal glands to release cortisol.
