Here's the setup. When food arrives in your gut, your gut releases hormones that travel up and tell your brain to ease off. One of them is called GLP-1. That's the signal semaglutide - Ozempic - copies, and it's the reason that drug became a household name.
Retatrutide doesn't copy just that one. It works on three signals together: GLP-1, plus two more the papers call GIP and glucagon. Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) added the second one.
